Southern California Veterinary Dental Specialties is a state of the art dental operatory. There are two custom corion tables for your pets comfort and two complete dental units for dental and oral surgical procedures. Digital dental radiographs and pictures are utilized on virtually all patients. The digital images require much less radiation exposure than conventional film. The operatory is equipped for all types of dentistry including periodontal, endodontic, orthodontic, restorative, and prosthodontic dental procedures as well as oral and maxillofacial surgery.

We use only the latest anesthetics and all patients are monitored with continuous pulse, oxygen saturation, EKG, respiratory, blood pressure and CO2 monitoring and temperature measurements. Our experienced staff has gone through many hours of training in monitoring anesthetized patients.

We appreciate that many of our clients come from a distance to entrust their pets to us. For this reason, we run our practice like a human dental office, where the procedure is performed at the appointment time. A preliminary appointment is not required, however, if you prefer, exam and consultation appointments can be scheduled and procedures (if necessary) performed at a later date.
This arrangement also allows you to make informed decisions regarding your pets therapy. A complete awake oral exam is frequently not possible in even the most well behaved patient, in addition, some problems are noted only on dental radiographs. For this reason, we often request that the owner wait until the anesthetized exam and radiographs are completed prior to leaving the office. However, we understand that you may need to be elsewhere, therefore we will either work around your schedule or make sure we can contact you if the need arises. Most procedures are completed in less than 2 to 3 hours at which point the patient will have recovered enough to go home.
Your family veterinarian is a vital part of your animal’s health. Therefore they will be contacted both verbally the day of or following the procedure as well as via a written referral summary including dental pictures and radiographs as well as any laboratory results for your permanent file.
